Coaching :
Through a Trauma-Informed Lens

Many people arrive at this work not because they’re broken, but because their nervous systems have been doing a tremendous amount of work for a very long time.

Trauma-informed coaching looks at how hypervigilance, fear, self-doubt, and overwhelm show up now — not as personal failures, but as learned responses that once made sense. The focus isn’t on reliving the past or pushing for change, but on understanding how safety, pacing, and capacity shape what’s possible in the present.

This approach creates space for clarity without pressure, and for movement that doesn’t require overriding yourself to make progress.

What is Trauma-Informed Coaching

Trauma-informed coaching, as I practice it, isn’t about fixing, diagnosing, or fast-tracking change.

It’s grounded in observation before action, discernment instead of impulse, and planning that respects real capacity. Choice is treated as a skill that can be rebuilt over time — not something demanded on command.

The work supports clarity and intentional movement without overriding the nervous system. Progress is allowed to be thoughtful, uneven, and human.

This is not high-performance coaching, and it isn’t therapy. It’s a steady, collaborative process designed to support sustainable change without urgency or emotional overload.

How We Would Work Together

When the time is right for one-to-one coaching, the work begins with conversation — not commitment.

Coaching unfolds collaboratively, shaped by what’s present, what feels sustainable, and what the nervous system can support. There are no preset timelines, no pressure to decide, and no expectation that clarity arrives all at once.

My role isn’t to lead from the front, but to walk alongside — bringing trauma-aware literacy, structure when it’s helpful, and space when that’s what’s needed instead.

Staying Oriented

At the moment, Ralph’s Tales is primarily a place for community, reflection, and discovery.

One-to-one coaching will become available in the future as my own reinvention continues to take shape. This season calls for pacing and presence — and I’m honoring that so the work can be offered with the care and steadiness it deserves.

When Ralph and I are settled into our new home, I’ll begin opening select office hours for one-to-one coaching.
